Power outages were reported across the region Monday night as high winds blew across the area.

While the pockets of outages were scattered throughout Huron, Perth, Bruce and Grey, the largest clusters were around Amberley, around Bayfield and south of Chatsworth. Over 1,600 customers were affected in those three outages.

A couple hundred of customers were also affected on the Bruce Peninsula near the community of Mar.

Restoration times were late Monday night.

Hydro teams were also dealing with a number of outages stretching from Windsor, east to the Greater Toronto Area and through central parts of the province.

Wind gusts were expected to reach upwards of 90 km/h from the west early Monday evening then diminish overnight.
