Owen Sound to examine possibility of artificial turf field covered by dome in feasibility study

A study will be conducted in Owen Sound to determine the feasibility of having an artificial turf field covered by a dome.

Owen Sound Minor Soccer has put up $10-thousand dollars to RC Strategies, who will look at possible locations and reach out to stake holders for the idea. Jason Dantas is the Vice President of Owen Sound Minor Soccer, and tells CKNX "In Owen Sound, we can't typically get on to our fields until late May, and some of our programs are playing teams from out of town that have already started. We can't play our home games until later".

Dantas says the idea has been around for quite some time, and groups within Minor Soccer have looked at the possibility before, but now "we think it's a big commitment on our part putting money in to the study, but we think it is something that will be useful not just for soccer, but for other sports as well".

The study is expected to be completed in March, 2022.
