Perth County Council recognized two paramedics for service excellence

Perth County Council has recognized two paramedics for their exemplary service.

On Thursday, Warden James Aitchison provided two paramedics with a letter of commendation for saving the life of their colleague.

One early morning a 911 call was routed to the London Central Ambulance Communications Centre. Paramedic Samer Sayegh, and Commander Randy Bonsma, arrived at a Listowel home to realize the call was for colleague Mike Grosz, and provided immediate treatment for a significant heart attack.

Grosz subsequently was treated in the Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance and then St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener, but is now recovering at home.

Paramedic Commander Randy Bonsma and Paramedic Samer for and life-saving actions responding to save the life of their colleague and Commander Grosz. Both received a Commendation for Service Excellence from Warden Aitcheson.
