COVID cases still in the hundreds in the province

Another four cases of COVID-19 were reported in Grey and Bruce Sunday.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit says the four were in Brockton, South Bruce, Southgate, and West Grey. There are now 13 active cases and 53 high-risk contacts. Two people are in hospital fighting the virus.

While the unit is not reporting any outbreaks, there is dismissed cohort at Kids N Us Childcare Centre in Dundalk.

Updated numbers from Huron Perth Public Health and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health are expected Monday morning after 10:30 a.m.

Heading into the weekend, HPPH was tracking 29 active cases, including several connected with local schools.

And WDG was monitoring 32 active cases in Wellington County.

The province reported another 653 cases Sunday, 499 of which were in people who are not fully vaccinated. Of the 177 people in Ontario ICU's, 127 are on ventilators and six deaths were reported.

Nearly 86 per cent of Ontarians 12 and older have received at least one dose of vaccine. More than 80 per cent are fully vaccinated.
