Conservative Alex Ruff will remain as the Member of Parliament for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound.
Ruff says he will continue to do the best he can to serve the riding in the House of Commons, with an increased focus on affordable housing and a critical shortage in workers across various sectors in Bruce and Grey counties, especially in agriculture.
"You know, there is a 30,000 worker shortage in the meat processing industry across Canada. But in particular, we have the need for increased processing capacity here in eastern Canada," added Ruff. "So these are issues I care about deeply."
But overall the workforce is a concern.
"We have to do a better job getting people into the workforce locally, and getting those people trained. That's something we proposed in our platform and hopefully, the next Liberal government will put forward some ideas that help people get into the workforce so we can fill those available jobs," said Ruff.
Ruff also won in 2019, taking just over 46% of the votes.
