Program offering grants toward new tourism ideas in Bruce Peninsula

Bruce County is offering a third round of "Spark" mentorships and grants to encourage local entrepreneurs, small businesses and non-profits to come up with unique tourism ideas.

In a release, Bruce County says they're looking for sustainable tourism ideas to help drive people to come explore the area. Selected applicants in the program will get paired with a tourism mentor and a $3,000 grant to help take new sustainable tourism ideas to the next level of development. Previous applicant ideas that were supported included forest bathing walks, Indigenous tourism experiences, multi-person canoe ecotours, year-round retreats, transparent kayak adventures, and winter glamping retreats.

The Spark program is a partnership between Bruce County, Bruce Power, the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula, the Town of South Bruce Peninsula, Bruce Grey Simcoe Regional Tourism Organization 7, Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation and the Ontario Tourism Innovation Lab.
