Perth County's transit project developing app

Perth County's Transit Project Coordinator reports the PC Connect transit services is gaining ridership.

Maggie Martin, says PC Connect ridership increased by 38%, servicing a total of 845 riders to date following a marketing campaign launched in July.

And the team has also successfully secured a booking application through a joint request for proposals with the Southwest Community Transit association (SCT).

When it goes live, the booking application will allow PC Connect riders to digitally secure their seat, pay for their ride and get real-time updates and notifications regarding the bus’s exact location.

PC Connect continues to operate with COVID-19 precautions in place, which includes reduced seating capacity and mandatory face-coverings.

The PC Connect team is confident that the app will enhance the overall customer experience, and will also be a vital asset in collecting thorough data that will contribute to the long-term success of the project. The app is expected to be available to riders by October 2021.
