OPP investigate fail to remain near Mildmay

South Bruce OPP are still searching for the driver of a pick-up truck that hit a hydro pole near Mildmay.

Police were called to an area of Highway 9 between Side Road 35 and Side Road 40 around 8:25 a.m. Sunday.

In the south ditch they found a heavily damaged black pick-up truck that collided with a hydro pole but the driver was no where to be seen. The West Region OPP's Emergency Response Team and a canine unit were called in to help find the suspect but they were not able to.

Police are looking for a white man, around 30 years hold with a slim build and wearing a black jacket.

Highway 9 was closed from Mildmay to Grey Road 10 for several hours Sunday but has since reopened.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
