A flipping fundraiser leads to a big donation

A Listowel man who flipped a 450 lb tire 350 times has raised over $61,000 for school nutrition programs.

Chris Kurz performed the feat on May 24 in the parking lot of Dynafit University after COVID forced the event to move away from the Listowel agriculture grounds.

In a Facebook post Monday morning, Kurz thanked the community for its belief in him.

The exact total came in at $61,339.21.

Kurz isn't a stranger to fundraisers involving feats of strength.

In the past he's ran in full firefighter's gear, pulled an ice resurfacer through the town, pushed a car and carried buckets of twoonies and loonies, all to raise money for various causes.
