COVID-19 cases rise in Midwestern Ontario

Huron Perth Public Health added seven new cases of COVID-19 Monday. There are 23 active cases, of which, eight are variants of concern. One resident is in hospital with the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added 25 new cases over the weekend, and there are 71 active cases. Two of the new cases were in Wellington County, where there are eight active cases.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added seven new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, two in Owen Sound, two in West Grey, and one in Hanover, Brockton and Saugeen Shores. There are 43 active cases including one active variant. Two residents are hospitalized outside of the region due to the virus, and four victims from other health units are being cared for in local hospitals.

Ontario reported 447 new COVID-19 cases on Monday. and  four new fatalities were added due to the virus.
