Town accepting applications from businesses for retail patio space

The Town of Saugeen Shores is now accepting applications for patio space for the 2021 season.

Much like last year during the pandemic, local restaurants and retailers can apply for the use of municipal property for dining or retail space. Just like last year, as well, the patio fee will be waived for the season, which runs this year from April 1st to October 30th. Council has approved the waiving of the patio fee and a revision to include retail businesses to the Sidewalk Patio and Sidewalk Café Encroachment Policy to help out local businesses.

Any businesses in Saugeen Shores that want to learn more or apply can contact the Town of Saugeen Shores Economic Development Officer Heather Hyde at heather.hyde@saugeenshores.ca. Applications will be accepted all season, and only businesses looking to use municipal property for patio space need apply.

The full Sidewalk Patio and Sidewalk Café Encroachment Policy can be found at www.SaugeenShores.ca/PatioPolicy.
