UPDATE: Thousands affected by outage in Huron, Perth

Update 12:50 p.m.

A pole fire is the cause of a power outage that affected several thousand customers in North Perth and North Huron Friday.

Hydro One's outage website shows that the power has been restored.

Originally, the number of customers affected was over 7,400 and it forced the closure of some schools in the Listowel area.

Hydro One crews had to fix a downed hydro pole on Hwy. 86 east of Listowel this morning. The road reopened shortly before 9 a.m.

Because of the outage the day shift at Spinrite's main plant has been cancelled. The afternoon shift and dye house overtime is still as scheduled.
