MVCA and GRCA issue flood warnings with snow melts raising water levels

With the warmer weather, local conservation authorities are keeping an eye on flooding.

The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch for North Huron, Morris-Turnberry and Howick.

That includes low lying areas in parts of Wingham including between Scott Street and Highway 86.

And in Howick, eyes are on low lying areas near the river.

The potential flooding is expected to impact these areas between mid-morning and later in the afternoon today.

And the Grand River Conservation Authority a Flood Warning for the Drayton area because of flows in the Conestogo River through the community. Flows were expected to peak late last night.
