South Huron Council has voted to keep Stephen Arena in Huron Park open.
On Tuesday, a motion to close the arena failed to get a second during South Huron's regular council meeting, so councillor Aaron Neeb followed with a recommendation to keep the arena open and operating, a motion which passed unanimously.
The new motion contains a provision that a full engineering report be conducted, which will include a condition assessment, and a 10-year capital investment program that is to be incorporated into the upcoming budget.
