Some pretty big pumpkins tipped the scales at this year's Port Elgin Pumpkinfest on Saturday.
The winner set a site record at 1,939.5 pounds and was entered by Phil and Jane Hunt and Chris Lyons and they won $3,000 for their efforts.
A total of 41 growers showed up for the weigh ins, while others, along with the general public, enjoyed the event virtually.
Todd Kline from Shawville, Quebec brought the largest Squash, weighing in at 1,288 pounds and Mark Pollock of Kincardine had the biggest watermelon at 124.5 pounds.
In a release, Pumpkinfest President Dave Mensher shared a thank-you with the board and volunteers who helped set up the event and for the support from the growers, council and public.
