Man charged after reports of a suspicious person in Huron County

Huron County OPP has laid charges against an Essex County resident in relation to some concerning incidents that took place last week.

On September 25, the OPP met with two victims that reported they had concerning interactions with a suspicious person.

The accused allegedly approached a teenaged student that was waiting for the school bus and asked her several times if she wanted to get into his vehicle. She declined and immediately reported the matter when she arrived at school.

Later, the accused was involved in another incident when he caused another victim to fear for her safety after he followed her in her vehicle to a business in Lucknow.

Later that day the accused was arrested in Perth County for driving-related offences and was transferred to the custody of Huron OPP.

While in custody, officers alleged the accused threatened to cause harm to one of the investigating officers, as well, he intentionally caused damage to a holding cell.

Timothy Hebert, 58, from Essex County has been charged with two counts of criminal harassment, mischief under $5,000 and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.

He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 2.
