The Louise Marshall Hospital expansion project has received a big boost in the form of a cheque for $1.14 million from the hospital foundation's board of directors.
Construction is on track for an opening in the spring of next year, which will increase the size of the hospital to 57,000 square feet, while much of the existing space will be renovated.
Officials said the additional space will enhance capacity, improve infection prevention and improve accessibility.
This donation is part of the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation's $5 million commitment, which covers approximately 10 per cent of the project's total cost, as well as some new equipment.
