Police identify victim of Saugeen First Nation homicide

Police have now identified a Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation man as the victim of a homicide that took place at Saugeen First Nation.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers were called to a disturbance at a residence on Isabella Road on Sunday at around 4:09 p.m., and found the body of 37-year-old Clarence Solomon of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation.

Police announced on Monday that 22-year-old Austin Cubitt of Saugeen First Nation has been charged with second degree murder in connection with the death.  He is scheduled to appear in court in Walkerton on September 15.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Grey Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
