Extensive property damage in Mitchell crash

A Stratford man faces charges after a crash that damaged three parked vehicles, a home, three yards and a tree in Mitchell.

Police were called to the scene on Huron Road Saturday just after 11 p.m. along with the West Perth Fire Department and Perth County Paramedics.

Once they got there, officers found that a sports car travelling westbound on Huron Road had collided with two parked vehicles and one of those hit a third because of the impact. That third vehicle was pushed into a home.

The driver was unhurt but was helped by a homeowner who also extinguished a small engine fire.

While talking with the driver, police suspected he displayed signs of impairment. He was arrested, taken to the OPP detachment in Sebringville and provided two breath samples that were found to be over the legal limit.

45-year old Richard Burbine was charged with impaired driving and is due in court in September.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.
