Clean Water project summary released

The Huron County Clean Water Project is launching a public information campaign to run for the rest of July and and into August.

Ausable Bayfield Land, Stewardship and Education Manager, Kate Monk, explains, each day they're going to focus on a different category within their program.

Monk says there are 17 different categories, so each day they'll have information posted about different things people can do on their properties. For example, erosion control, cover crops or tree planting.

Monk says the Clean Water Program is a Province wide program and Huron County is, by far, the leader in projects completed with almost 3,000 projects completed since the program started in 2005.

"The County of Huron contributes $400,000 to the Huron Clean Water Project each year and that's tremendous, we really appreciate their support and then, the Maitland Valley and Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authorities deliver the program," said Monk.

Anyone looking for more information can call either the Maitland Valley or Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority or go on the Huron County Clean Water Project web site.
