Local MP talks about support in leadership race

The Member of Parliament for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound says he fully supports Erin O'Toole in the ongoing federal Conservative leadership race.

Alex Ruff tells CKNX that he has known O'Toole since the two attended the Royal Military College of Canada at the same time in the early 1990's.

When asked about O'Toole's understanding of local issues in his riding, Ruff said the two have discussed the ongoing Firearms Review at length, also noting that O'Toole has shown an interest in helping and learning more about the agricultural community.

Ruff says he still chats with O'Toole "on a weekly basis".

Perth-Wellington MP John Nater is currently Deputy House Leader of the Official Opposition, and therefore is bound to not comment on the ongoing leadership race until it's conclusion.
