Saugeen Shores Police ready for new inititative

Saugeen Shores Police plans to launch it's latest road safety initiative.

"Operation Road Rules" will begin on July 17th. The two week inititative will target traffic infractions at intersections such as disobeying stop signs, red and amber lights and blocking intersections.

Police have found an increase in traffice in summer months in Saugeen Shores and an urge for motorists to beat a red a light or roll through stop signs.

Officers will be assigned to focused patrols during this initiative.

Crash in Tilbury claims driver's life

Chatham-Kent police reported a 44-year-old man driving a pickup truck was killed in the crash at Jeanettes Creek Road and Coutts Line around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
