Fire ban in Huron County sill in place

Despite the rain over the weekend, Huron County Fire Chiefs are keeping an open air fire ban in place.

That's because while some areas did see some rain, others did not.

The ban was first issued July 7th.

Only campfires for the purpose of cooking are allowed between noon and midnight. And no burn permits are being issued.

Officials are expected to revisit the issue at the end of the week.
