Health unit aware of fundraisers

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is encouraging anyone who has a fundraiser planned to consult with them because of COVID-19 related guidelines in place.

The encouragement comes after a beard shaving fundraiser in Owen Sound on Saturday. The health unit said while it has not received a formal complaint, the unit has started to follow up protocols.

According to the health unit, the COVID-19 guidance document highlights restrictions including services involving the face.

The fundraiser itself was in support of the Owen Sound hospital's critical response fund for COVID-19 protective equipment and the event raised over $8,000.
