Police lay charges following assault in Meaford

Grey-Bruce OPP have laid charges following a recent assault in Meaford.

On July 8 at 11:33 pm, officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex at Highway 6 and 10, in the Municipality of Meaford. Police located the victim who had been hit in the back of the head with an unknown object. The victim was taken to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Following an investigation, the OPP have charged a 23-year-old of no fixed address with assault with a weapon two counts of failure to comply with a release order, and two counts of failure to comply with a  probation order.

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice on July 9.
