Sometime during the weekend of July 4 and 5, unknown suspects broke into an insecure and unattended residence on Front Street in Egmondville. Once inside, the thieves stole cash, jewellery and electronics.

The shelter plans to remain open until 7 a.m. on Saturday, when the smoke is expected to leave the area.
