Keeping an eye on Sauble Beach

South Bruce Peninsula is keeping Sauble Beach open.

In a Facebook post by Mayor Janice Jackson, she described the discussion held at a special council meeting this week. Officials reviewed the recent re-opening of the beach. While there were some issues with alcohol, it was noted that beachgoers were doing their best to social distance.

Posters have been put up by local businesses and on social media about the guidelines that are in place. Masks and sanitizers have been packaged together to give to local businesses.

Council is expected to review what's happening at the beach every week in anticipation of a larger crowd expected the next holiday weekend, which is the Civic Holiday.
