Mandatory mask order in enclosed public spaces coming to Grey Bruce

The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit has given notice of intent to mandate face coverings in enclosed public spaces in Bruce and Grey counties within the next ten days.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra says "It is of critical importance that the use of face coverings does not become a replacement to the current effective practices of physical distancing, handwashing, screening for symptoms among others. Face covering should be used in combination with these practices to break the chain of transmission of the virus."

Accumulating evidence indicates that the widespread use of face coverings in public decreases spread of respiratory droplets, and expert opinion supports the widespread use of face coverings to decrease transmission of COVID-19.
