On March 21st. shortly after 7:30 pm, Owen Sound Police, Fire and EMS responded to the report of a residential fire on the east side of the City.
Police arrived on scene and were advised by a neighbour that the homeowner may still be inside the house.
Owen Sound Fire crews were able to contain the fire.
A search of the residence was conducted by members of the fire department and an unconscious female discovered inside.
Grey County EMS performed CPR, however were unable to resuscitate the female.
The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office and Owen Sound Police Service Criminal Investigation Unit have been called in to investigate.
