Port of Goderich puts procedures in place for COVID-19 response

The novel coronavirus hasn't impacted shipping at the Port of Goderich.

However, the president of the Goderich Port Management Corporation, Rowland Howe, said that could change.

Howe said once the season opens vessels will come into the Goderich Harbour.

“Vessels will still come in when they resume," he said. "But we're giving them all of the information that the hospital and the Maitland Valley Medical Centre have issued around what to do if you have somebody who may be exhibiting symptoms consistent with the COVID-19.”

Howe said there is a process those people would be put through to determine if testing is required.
