The Medical Officer of Health and CEO of WDGPH, Dr. Nicola Mercer, announced a man in his 40s tested positive at Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville
The patient had returned from Atlanta, Georgia.
Mercer said the man is now in self-isolation at home.
"This does not change our protocols around the containment of the COVID-19 virus in our area," said Mercer.
In hopes of raising awareness of the help available to sexual violence survivors, a local crisis centre has handed out stickers to over 200 businesses.
Three people are facing charges after separate incidents took place over the long weekend.
