Bruce County appoints new CAO

Bruce County has appointed Sandra Datars Bere as its new Chief Administrative Officer.

She begins her job as the new Chief Administrative Officer on May 11th, 2020.

The Acting CAO will remain on staff during the transition.

Datars Bere has been working as Managing Director of Housing, Social Services and Dearness Home at the City of London.

Sandra has extensive experience in strategic social service program development and implementation at both the municipal and provincial level as well as direct experience overseeing a Long Term Care Home.

She has prior experience as Regional Director for the Ministries of Community and Social Services, Children and Youth and Municipal Affairs and Housing

As a double graduate of Western University in London, Sandra holds both a bachelor’s degree in Honours Psychology and a Master’s in Public Administration.

“Sandra has a wealth of knowledge and experience and a well-rounded explorer vision to guide the County into the next stage of our journey. The County is excited by the leadership qualities she has demonstrated and look forward to what lies around the corner as we continue to take the road less travelled together, to enhance our life, our work and our communities, ” said Warden Mitch Twolan.

Sandra is thrilled to be joining the County of Bruce as we continue on a path of learning and discovery.

“I look forward to the new challenges, building new relationships and the opportunities at the County of Bruce. I am committed to continue Bruce County’s determination to strive to deliver the highest level of service to our residents and business partners” says Sandra Datars Bere.

She serves on Western University’s Senate and its Alumni Association as well as on the Foundation at Huron University College, Western’s founding college.

Sandra has been a Board member of Vanier Children’s Services since 2017 and currently serves as Co-Vice Chair of Vanier’s Board of Directors.
