Howson Bridge and Dam Committee making progress

The Howson Bridge and Dam Committee has voted to eliminate "doing nothing" from its list of options for a recommendation to North Huron council.

The committee determined that replacing, refurbishing and demolishing the dam are the only viable possibilities moving forward.

The committee also made a motion to re-invite engineer Peter White to a future meeting, to give him a chance to speak to what would be required for refurbishing or replacing the structure.

The committee's next meeting is scheduled for January 22, and will include a presentation from Peter White, Bill Trick discussing power generation on the dam, a video from Reeve Bernie Bailey, as well as stakeholder delegations and reports.
