Mapleton township offers free facility rentals for local service clubs and minor sports

Mapleton Township Council has decided to discount Facility Rentals to service clubs and minor sports organizations by 100 per cent.

In October, council increased user fees for facility rentals. That sparked concerns from several service clubs and minor sports organizations regarding impacts the increased fees would have on their day to day operations.

So the council decided to work with the service clubs and minor sports organizations and allow them to use the facilities free of charge.

Mapleton Mayor Gregg Davidson said council expects that will lead to an uptake in community events and strengthen the impact these groups have in Mapleton.
