Eco Exeter spreads the word

The Eco Exeter Student Environmental Advocacy Group is hosting a workshop tomorrow to inspire more students and teachers to get on board.

The group is hosting other Grade 9 science classes from across the Avon Maitland District School Board on Thursday to encourage schools to develop their own Eco groups.

Grade 9 science includes a unit on Sustainable Eco-Systems, so South Huron District High School teacher Amanda Keller launched Eco Exeter last year.

The group sells reusable produce bags and stainless steel straws. They also encourage community action, with presentations to local politicians, and at the recent Climate Forum in Clinton.

Thursday's forum at SHDHS offers a morning and afternoon session hosting different groups of schools and will include a variety of local guest speakers.
