Counterfeit $100 U.S. bill passed at Sunset Strip business

Grey Bruce OPP is asking for help from the public with a counterfeit money case at a business at Highway 6 and Highway 10, west of Owen Sound.

On September 4, two individuals made a small purchase at the business. They used a $100 U.S. bill to pay for the purchase and received the change, with the exchange rate.

It was discovered later by store employees that the American bill was fake. Officers are trying to identify the woman in the photo that was supplied.

Anyone with information that can assist Grey Bruce OPP can call 1-888-310-1122, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Police are warning area businesses to be cautious when accepting American $100 bills.
