Number of break ins and vehicle thefts a major concern in Huron County

Residents in a number of Huron County communities have experienced quite a few break ins and thefts over the last couple of weeks.

There have been reported break ins and thefts in Seaforth, Exeter, Zurich, Hensall and Staffa. Thieves have snatched many different kinds of items, but a large amount of theft reports are for stolen pick-up trucks. Some residents have claimed the thieves have returned to some residences on more than one occasion.

The OPP are reminding everyone to be extra cautious, lock all vehicles and garages, sheds and home doors, and never leave personal items in vehicles. Police also encourage people to not keep vehicle keys out in the open in garages or your home.
