Cattle injured in crash east of Mount Forest

A number of cows have been injured in a single-vehicle crash east of Mount Forest.

The Ontario Provincial Police said a loaded cattle truck rolled onto its side on Wellington Road 16 just south of Highway 89, shortly before 7:10 p.m. on Thursday.

The driver of the truck was not injured but a veterinarian had to attend the scene to tend to the animals that were injured.

The crash also caused downed power lines, which resulted in a power outage in the area. Hydro One crews have attended the scene to conduct repairs.

Wellington Road 16 is closed between Highway 89 and the 12th Line of Wellington North Township to allow crews to clear the scene.
