'Jumbo' opening for Blyth Festival season Friday

The Blyth Festival opens its 45th season Friday night with a circus atmosphere.

The opening play is "Jumbo".  It's a story of Jumbo the Elephant's final performance in St. Thomas.

Artistic Director Gil Garratt said he promises they're going to put an entire circus on stage.

"We have an aerialist who's part of the company and we have a young woman who juggles and rides unicycles and we're going to have a snake charmer," he said.

On top of that, Garratt said they've built a life-size Jumbo puppet that will come out on stage and give everyone an opportunity to see Jumbo in his glory.
