Two injured in Mount Forest apartment fire

The cause of a residential fire in Mount Forest remains under investigation.

The blaze broke out Sunday evening in a two-storey multi-unit structure on Main Street.

Firefighters rescued a woman from the second storey and had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

A man escaped through the back door.  He was also treated for smoke inhalation, as well as burns to his arms.

Fire officials say it appears the fire started in a second-floor unit and there is extensive smoke and water damage throughout.

The damage estimate has been set at roughly $300,000.

Crews from Mount Forest, Wellington North, Arthur, West Grey and Minto all responded.
