The West Grey administration building near Durham is flying a Pride flag.
The symbolic flag-raising event on Tuesday had the full support of the West Grey Police Service.
In a news release, the police service stated that it was part of a commitment to growing the relationships with members of the local LGBTQ2SA+ communities.
"To change the dialogue… to open the dialogue… to let the LGBTQ2SA+ community know that when they see the side of our police cars and it says community partners, they are part of the community we are talking about," said Media Relations Officer Constable Cory Trainor. "The position of trust that is put into our officers is essential as they work relentlessly in our schools to promote inclusion and to stress the importance of creating safer schools for all."
A Pride flag will be flying in front of the Saugeen Shores Police Service building later this week.
The police service is co-hosting a "Show Your Pride" flag raising and barbeque Saturday at noon at the police station in Port Elgin.
A number of other local communities are holding Pride flag raising events.
