'Walk A Mile In Her Shoes' event pulls in record fundraising totals

The annual "Walk A Mile In Her Shoes" event for Women's House Serving Grey/Bruce was a big success this past weekend.

Community Funds and Development Coordinator Michelle Lamont confirmed a record-breaking fundraising tally for the event in Port Elgin on Sunday, as they raised $24,327. In total, the event had 53 walkers this year to help raise awareness for stopping violence against women.

Women's House will continue to use the funds to help support and shelter if necessary women in the region who have suffered physical abuse. Another event will be held in June in Hanover. For more information or to donate to Women's House, visit whsgb.on.ca.
