Police apprehend male in the midst of a break-and-enter

A Hanover man is facing several charges following a break-and-enter from earlier this morning.

At 1 am this morning, Hanover Police Service responded to a break-and-enter in progress at a commercial building in Hanover's Industrial Park. With assistance from West Grey Police, officers determined the suspect had made his way from one commercial unit into a second within the same building. Hanover Fire Department came to assist, and using a heat source device the suspect was located in the attic space of the building.

Officers climbed up and apprehended the suspect and brought him down using ladders. Further investigation revealed the 27-year-old Hanover man was in possession of brass knuckles, lock picks and stolen property. He was charged with a number of offences, and held for a bail hearing to answer to his charges.
