Huron Manufacturing Association focuses on youth

The Huron Manufacturing Association has been focusing on young people as it prepares for its annual general meeting next week.

Association members just completed a week of school tours involving all of the secondary schools in Huron County.

Treasurer Jan Hawley said the objective of the tours is to make the students aware of the opportunities available to them in the manufacturing sector.

Members of Wingham's F. E. Madill Robotics team will introduce their newest creation at the Annual General Meeting.

"They're known as the Iron Stallions and they were just in a provincial competition and they ranked quite high," said Hawley. "We're so proud of them. And they're going to be bringing their newest creation."

The Annual General Meeting is Thursday, May 23 at the Seaforth Golf Club.

Tickets can be obtained by calling Huron East town hall at 527-0160 or emailing the HMA at info@huronmanufacturing.ca.
