Police lay charges after recovering stolen vehicle

The OPP have laid charges regarding a stolen vehicle in Mount Forest.

On Friday, February 1, Wellington County OPP responded to a stolen vehicle call at 1:35 p.m. on Ronnie's Way in Mount Forest that had just occurred. The vehicle was described as a white Tahoe that was being tracked by OnStar.

Approximately 20 minutes later officers located the vehicle on Southgate Road 47, stuck in the snow. Police followed the footsteps that lead away from the vehicle, located the suspect and placed him under arrest.

Police discovered the suspect was breaching conditions on two probation orders.

As a result, 26-year-old Kevin Harper of North Perth has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.
