The former Agricultural Park in Goderich has a new name.
Mayor John Grace said the Park Revitalization Committee turned to the public for suggestions for a new name.
The committee went through a process and when they got down to the final name, its recommendation was the Bannister Park, after Carl and Marilyn Bannister.
The Goderich couple has been strong supporters of sports in the town for several years and bequeathed a significant amount of money to various clubs in the town. The recommendation was approved by council.
Mayor Grace said the committee is also working with the town on a way to recognize the Goderich Trotters Association and harness racing.
