Premier to attend Wiarton Willie Festival

Ontario's premier will have a front-row seat when Wiarton Willie makes his annual prediction on Saturday.

Doug Ford will join Grey Bruce Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker at the 63rd Annual Wiarton Willie Festival.

Willie will make his appearance at 8:07 a.m., with many hoping he'll predict an early spring.

Bruce Power President and CEO Mike Rencheck will also be on hand, hoping Willie doesn't see his shadow.

Bruce Power is a gold-level sponsor at this year's event where the world-famous albino groundhog’s prediction takes place at sunrise at the Wiarton Arena.

The festival boasts a free breakfast on prediction morning, in addition to dozens of family-oriented events.

“This is a fantastic and fun event to help break up the long Bruce County winters that has generated worldwide attention for our great region,” said Rencheck. “We are thrilled to be making this commitment to the festival and look forward to increasing our involvement in the years to come.”
