UPDATE: A Wednesday white out

Multiple roads are being closed in the region and the South Bruce OPP is urging motorists to avoid travelling.

High winds and blowing snow are creating zero visibility conditions throughout parts of Midwestern Ontario.

As of just after 5 pm., Bruce Peninsula OPP are advising the public that, due to high winds and blowing snow creating poor visibility, all roads in Northern Bruce Peninsula and South Bruce Peninsula are closed.

And after 7 p.m., Brockton halted municipal plow operations until 3 a.m. Thursday.

Police are reminding drivers that the penalty for driving on a closed highway is a $110 fine and three demerit points.

But for some, it's more than money as police are responding to multiple crashes and stranded motorists in the near white out conditions.
