The Town of Minto has taken the unusual step of hiring the town fire chief to replace retiring CAO Bill White.
Chris Harrow will continue to serve as fire chief and also be Acting CAO.
Bill White has worn the double hat of clerk and CAO for the past eight years.
Longtime Minto Treasurer Gordon Duff will add the role of acting clerk to his duties.
Both appointments are for six months during which time the appointees can decide if they like the job.
It gives the new council more time before making a final decision on replacing White permanently.
