Seatbelt Violations Up In Saugeen Shores

Saugeen Shores Police saw a significant increase in unbuckled motorists during this year's seatbelt enforcement campaign. Between September 27th and October 12th, officers took to the roadways to charge anyone in a vehicle who was not wearing a seatbelt. Police charged 12 people for violating seatbelt laws. That could cost them $240. and two demerit points. Media Relations Officers Sergeant Andrew Evans says many fatalities could be avoided by taking two seconds to buckle up.
